Family Prayer at the Dinner Table
With the launch of this new website dedicated to so-called AI slops, we cannot but begin with this now-classic image of the genre. The "sloppy" elements are immediately visible (such as the background nonsense text reading "FOMLY FOEES" and the ghostlike, phasing dinner plates). They are artifacts of a neural system brilliant at mimicry, and it is because of this mimicry that machines seem to grasp changing shapes between 1980 and 2024. It could even make us seriously think, which is just fitting as we found the image in "im14andthisisdeep" (one could add: so deep!), a space, or a so-called subreddit, that showcases "deep and meaningful" insights shared on social media. And yes, the accent lies on the quotation marks.
